Xbox Series S: GameVinyl Console Skins Application Guide

Thank you for purchasing one of our GameVinyl Console Skins / Wraps for Xbox Series S! Below is our application guide to help you get started.

Items that can make this process easier:

  • A steady set of hands
  • Scissors (optional)
  • Hairdryer or heat gun (optional)
  • Credit card or squeegee (optional)

Step 1: Clean the device

This is an often overlooked but absolutely essential step. If you don't clean it, any debris that is left on it will show through the skin! Take some glass cleaner and spray it on the device, then use a microfiber towel or other clean towel to wipe off. Stay away from paper towels, as they can leave lint.

Step 2: See what you're working with

Unroll and lay out the vinyl material on a flat surface. We recommend you use the largest table you can find to perform the installation. Below is what you'll see when it's laid out.

Make note of the pink cut lines. You won't see these on the physical printout, but that's where the cuts are in the print. This is where the skin will peel off of the backing piece of vinyl material. Ensure that everything gets peeled off as shown. Sometimes, especially on the smaller cutouts, material can get stuck even after you peel the entire piece off. If this is the case, set the skin back down on the backing paper, and use a razor blade or similar tool to help peel the "stuck" cutout away.

Step 3: Peel and stick

Begin with the front piece. Peel it off from the backing paper and align a corner to begin. Your best bet is to align it with the top left corner, and you'll be able to see it align with the large circle cutout over the venting area. Slowly work your way down the console, applying even amounts of pressure as you do. If you have a second set of hands to help, they can hold the other side of the piece so it does not stick to the console. If you mess up, don't worry. The material is meant to be stuck and unstuck if necessary without causing damage or reducing the adhesiveness. Simply unstick, and try again. To help prevent or remove air bubbles, take a hair dryer or heat gun and apply heat to the skin after application, and use a credit card or other hard plastic tool to iron out any air bubbles that may have formed.

Step 4: Continue with the other sides

Repeat the same process with the left and right sides. The ports panel is the trickiest, as there are many cutouts here. We recommend you start your alignment with one of the ports, instead of a corner. This will ensure you have perfect alignment over the ports, which should give you a perfect alignment of the entire section.

Common Troubleshooting Questions

Q: I see air bubbles in the skin after application. What can I do?

A: This is where a heat gun or hair dryer will come in handy. Apply heat to the console skin for 30 seconds by switching on and aiming the hair dryer or heat gun towards it. Use a credit card or squeegee to iron out any bubbles by sweeping them toward the sides of the skin.
